What is Smart Ration Card?

Smart Ration card is nothing but a document which is the main proof of the residence in a state. This is given by the state government. A separate digital card is given to each and every family residence of Tamil Nadu by the Tamil Nadu state government.

If a member got married means then she or he is eligible to apply a new Smart Ration card through TNPDS. The government provides a new card for new family’s. We can get foods, grains sugar through the smart card in ration shops for free or low price.

Conditions to Apply for a New Smart Ration Card in Tamil Nadu?

There are two conditions to apply for a new card through online. Certainly, you have to read the conditions before apply through online. They are following.

  • If you are a newly married then you are eligible to apply for new one.
  • And, you have to apply for once through online. Don’t apply for multiple times.

How to Apply Smart Ration Card Online in TNPDS?

The website homepage looks like below image either in Tamil or English language. If you want to change the language from Tamil to English then click “English” on the title bar.

Then you have to click for “Smart Card Application” option present on the left side of the home page. If you click that option then a application form will open looks like the following image. You have to fill that application form and submit it to apply online.

Firstly you have to fill the details of the family head such as name, father or husband name, address, phone number and email id. Moreover, you have to upload the photo of family head.

Then you have to add the details of family members. Before that you have to add the family head details first. Then you have to add the details of family members such as name, gender, date of birth, relationship, action.

Then you have to select the card option as per your wish. And also you have to upload the proof of residence. You have scan it and upload it. Then you have give your details of gas connection.

Just tick the tick mark in details of gas connection. It will ask you about the gas connection details. Fill those details and tick the declaration and click submit button to apply for a new smart card.

Smart Ration Card Application Status

After applying a new smart ration card they will send you a message to your registered mobile number with a reference number. You can track your application status with the receipt number. So save that number in your memory storage.

You have click “Smart Application Status” option in the home page. Then a new window will open like following image. You have to enter your reference number sent to you while registering a new card.

Just enter that reference number and just click submit button. You will notify by your status of the application.
